REPORT FROM NUPS-G UEW COORDINATING BRANCH
Then I heard the voice of the lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, “Here am I send me!” Isaiah 6:8.
We bring you greetings from University of Education, Winneba coordinating branch in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. Since taking office in march this year, the work ahead seem not only challenging but very demanding considering the fact that we are all students. But we say this to the glory of God that the coordinating branch is doing very well in all the activities organized so far.
This years Presbyterian Students in Church Evangelism (P-SICE) took place in the West Akyem Presbytery (WAP) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. In all, about ninety two students participated in the exercise which took place between 3 RD and 16 TH of June, 2008. Participants were prepared with a three-day orientation which took place at the Grace Presbyterian Church, Winneba. The orientation was graced by Rev. Ohemeng Boakye (The District Minister), and Rev. Nana Agyemang of the Lay Training Centre at Nsaba.
For a period of two weeks, participants worked in five districts of WAP and in about twenty eight locals. Among the activities conducted during the programme were house-to-house evangelism, retreats, half and all night services, open air crusades and other community services like teaching in basic and Junior High Schools.
To the glory of our Christ Jesus, nearly close to one hundred and fifty two souls were won for Christ while backsliders in the various locals were rejuvenated in the spirit of our Lord. Not only was the programme successful but God really used our students to bless the various locals they were all posted to.
