Since taking office in march 2008, the work ahead seem not only challenging but very demanding considering the fact that we are all students. But we say this to the glory of God that the coordinating branch is doing very well in all the activities organized so far.
ACTIVITIES
Some activities done to enrich and revive the union includes; retreats, bible studies, prayer meetings, open forum, visitations, symposium, talks, seminars (on marriage) etc. Other activities under review organized by the coordinating branch included the following:PRESBYTERIAN STUDENTS IN CHURCH EVANGELISM (P-SICE), 2008.
Last years Presbyterian Students in Church Evangelism (P-SICE) took place in the West Akyem Presbytery (WAP) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. In all, about ninety two students participated in the exercise which took place between 3RD and 16TH of June, 2008.
Participants were prepared with a three-day orientation which took place at the Grace
Presbyterian Church, Winneba. The orientation was graced by Rev. Ohemeng Boakye (The then District Minister), and Rev. Nana Agyemang of the Lay Training Centre at Nsaba. For a period of two weeks, participants worked in five districts of WAP and in about twenty eight locals. Among the activities conducted during the programme were house-to-house evangelism, retreats, half and all night services, open air crusades and other community services like teaching in basic and Junior High Schools.
To the glory of our Christ Jesus, nearly close to one hundred and fifty two souls were won for Christ while backsliders in the various locals were rejuvenated in the spirit of our Lord. Not only was the programme successful but God really used our students to bless the various locals they were all posted to.
FRESHERS’ SOCIALIZATION
Fresher’s socialization which is an annual event came on at the Royal Beach Resort of Winneba on the 13th of September, 2008. Members took this day off to relax and have fun whiles fresher’s were welcomed and introduced. Activities of the day included, draft, game of lude, playing cards, table tennis, sack race, musical chairs and eating competition. The programme which started at around 9:45 am came to an end at 3:25pm. Members of the union had fun and socialized with all present.LEADERSHIP TRAINING SEMINAR (LTS)
The years Leadership training seminars (LTS) were organized for our coordinating schools on the 18th and 25th of October, 2008 at Akim-Oda and Agona Swedru respectively. In attendance of these programmes were Rev. Alexander Kwadwo and Mr. Kwadwo Duah Agyekum Nyantakyi, Trinity Congregation of PCG-Oda, Rev. Abronoma Nyarko and Rev. Gabriel W. Alugba all of Swedru.Among the topics treated were conflict Management, Student Leadership and its Challenges, how to prepare a programme, how to organize meetings and minutes writing. Over 84 leaders from the various coordinated schools attended the programme.
THE PRESIDENTS WEEDING CEREMONY
A number of wedding ceremonies were attended by the union. Among them was the presidents wedding with which the holy matrimony was performed on the 11th of October, 2008 at Ejisu-Ashanti. The occasion was graced by a great number of dignitaries, the members of the coordinating branch and some members of NUPS-G National Council from University of Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology coordinating branches.ECUMINICAL RELATION WITH THE CHURCH
The executives of the coordinating branch have been able to maintain the cordial relationship that existed between the mother churches and the union before we took up the mantle. We have been able to visit a number of our mother churches in the coordinating branch and have had series of programmes with them.
The coordinated schools occasionally visited their mother churches within their towns. Again, the coordinating branch visited the Central Presbytery chairperson at least twice and some key ministers in the presbytery and they visited and supported the union in return. This relationship has really helped the progress of the union.
COORDINATION
There were visitations by the coordinating team led by the schools coordinator to all the coordinated schools in our jurisdiction twice the semester. The core executive of the coordinating branch also did well by embarking on mass coordination exercise to most of the coordinated schools within our reach.During the visits, the challenges facing the coordinated schools were discussed and solutions offered to them. The executive familiarized with coordinated schools which help to strengthen and encouraged them in their faith.
COUNCIL MEETINGS
The NUPS-G UEW coordinating branch attended all national council meetings organized by the national secretariat.
FINANCE
The main sources of our finance which made us meet our financial obligations were:
- Offertory
- Dues
- Tithes
- Voluntary thanks offering
- Proceeds form bus service
- Harvest
- Donation
- Fund raising
ACHIEVEMENTS
- The UEW coordinating branch has been able to open a church at Aseibu and also revived other branches within our jurisdiction.
- Repair of the union’s only bus which was at the verge of total collapse.

CHALLENGES
- A lots of members are unable to meet their financial obligations with the union
